Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir has stated that if the Pakistan team reaches the semi-final of ICC World Cup 2023 and defeat India, the 31-year-old will dance like ex-Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan.
Irfan Pathan, after Pakistan's defeat to Afghanistan in the ongoing World Cup 2023, had danced with Rashid Khan, and videos of their dance had gone viral on social media.
In response to this video, where social media users had criticised Irfan Pathan, the rivalry between India and Pakistan had once again come to the forefront.
During Geo News' program 'Harna Manaa Hai,' a user asked Abdul Razzaq if Pakistan could defeat India in the semi-final, or if the entire team would get out for 192 runs again?
In this, Abdul Razzaq said that first, let's pray that Pakistan reaches the semi-finals of the World Cup because all the other teams don't want Pakistan to reach the semi-finals.
"When Pakistan lost to Afghanistan, Indian cricketers were dancing, which is beyond understanding. I don't know if they are celebrating cricket or if they have some personal enmity," Razzaq said.
Responding to Abdul Razzaq's comments, Mohammad Amir said, "I promise that if Pakistan reaches the semi-finals of the World Cup and beats India, I will dance just like Irfan Pathan danced when Afghanistan defeated Pakistan."
Host Tabish Hashmi then commented, "You don't have to dance like that; it's better to do something else." To which Mohammad Amir replied, "I will dance better than that."
Former cricketer Imad Wasim added to the conversation, saying, "My wish is that Pakistan defeat India in the semi-finals just as we have defeated India in the 2021 T20 World Cup."
So, the conversation among former cricketers revolved around their desire for Pakistan to beat India in the T20 World Cup semi-finals.
It must be noted that Pakistan remain in contention to qualify for the final four. They will have to beat New Zealand and England in remaining games while hoping other results go in their favour.
